I need to whine...

because surgery sucks. Wes had his orientation today (which was ridiculous in itself because it was 12 hours) where he learned that he needs to be on the surgery floor by 5am, and will be off around 6pm every night. That means he has a 3:45 wake up call. And that means a 9:00pm bedtime.

Because my schedule on Tuesday means I don't get home until 10pm, I won't see Wes between Monday and Wednesday nights, every week for the next 2 months. Not to mention that the people on his same team last month worked 14 days straight with NO days off. We live in the same house, but you probably wouldn't know it!

Ok, whining done for tonight.

My best friends from high school married each other and moved to WI for Pete to do med school. I remember Jen commenting more than one time about how she never saw her husband - and some rotations are always worse than others!

Here's to hoping Thursday - Sunday offers great time to reconnect!! :-)

Some rotations are worse than others. The one he had the last two months and surgery for the next two months are the worst, so the good news is that things will look up after Thanksgiving.

Sometimes, knowing that doesn't make things that much easier, though, as nonsensical as that seems. 4 months is a long time to feel like we are merely passing each other in the night... but cheers to better days!
